Two New PhD Students Join Our Research Group

ELTE

We are pleased to announce that two new doctoral students have joined our research group as members of the Doctoral School of Earth Sciences at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE).

Péter Mucsi will focus his research on the subsurface volcanic rocks of Hungary. His work will center on the Nyírség region, where he will investigate the deposits of large volcanic eruptions using modern analytical techniques. His research will contribute to a deeper understanding of volcanism and geodynamics in the Carpathian–Pannonian region.

Balázs Soós will work on 4D paleo-reconstruction modeling of the Cenozoic evolution of the Pannonian Basin, with special emphasis on the spatial and temporal development of volcanic complexes. His research aims to provide new insights into the geodynamic and related volcanic processes that shaped the region.

The addition of these two PhD students marks an important step forward for our group and is expected to bring valuable scientific results to both Hungarian and international volcanological and geological research.
